93 Centre Street Affordable Housing Waitlist in Brockton: Apply by Aug. 27
The 93 Centre Street affordable housing waitlist in Brockton is open for income-restricted studios, one-bedroom and two-bedroom apartments at 80% of Area Median Income. Boston Metrolist currently lists rents of $1,800, $2,026 and $2,244 per month, with applications due August 27, 2026.
This is a waiting-list opportunity, not a promise of an apartment that can be leased immediately. Maloney Properties currently reports no affordable vacancies at 93 Centre Street and says new applications are placed on the waitlist in the order received.
Current Rents Start at $1,800
The current Metrolist listing covers three apartment sizes:
- Studio: $1,800 per month, with a published minimum annual income of $54,000.
- 1BR: $2,026 per month, with a published minimum annual income of $60,780.
- 2BR: $2,244 per month, with a published minimum annual income of $67,320.
Each category is listed at 80% AMI. The minimum-income figure is only one side of eligibility; households also have to remain under the applicable maximum income for their household size.
Brockton Uses Different 80% AMI Limits Than Boston
93 Centre Street falls within the Brockton HUD Metro FMR Area, so applicants should not use Boston-area income limits when checking this property. Maloney currently publishes these 2026 maximum incomes at 80% AMI:
- 1 person: $75,450.
- 2 people: $86,200.
- 3 people: $97,000.
- 4 people: $107,750.
- 5 people: $116,400.
- 6 people: $125,000.
The distinction matters because a household that fits the 80% AMI limit for a property closer to Boston may not automatically fit the Brockton limit. Our Area Median Income guide explains why HUD income limits change by location and household size.
Maloney also notes that the usual minimum-income requirement does not apply in the same way to households receiving qualifying mobile rental assistance, including Section 8, VASH or MRVP.
There Are No Affordable Vacancies Listed Right Now
Maloney's current property page says there is no present affordable availability at 93 Centre Street. Applications submitted now are added to the waiting list in the order they arrive.
That is consistent with Boston Metrolist labeling the opportunity an Open Waitlist. The studio, one-bedroom and two-bedroom rents shown on Metrolist are the current listed affordable rent categories; they should not be read as three apartments waiting for immediate move-in.
There is also no published guaranteed wait time. An apartment has to become available before a household on the list can move into the next stage.
How the 93 Centre Street Waitlist Works
Maloney processes this property first come, first served rather than through a random lottery. When there is no vacancy, the order in which complete applications are received determines the initial waitlist order.
Boston Metrolist says full proof of income is not required simply to enter an open waitlist. Applicants should still check whether they are likely to qualify before applying because a full financial review comes later.
- Request the current 93 Centre Street rental application from Maloney Properties.
- Complete the household and contact information accurately.
- Submit the application before August 27, 2026.
- Watch for Maloney's email confirming receipt and application review.
- Keep your phone number, email and household information current while waiting.
- If you are reached after an apartment becomes available, provide the financial documents needed for final eligibility certification.
The affordable-housing contact currently listed for the property is 93Centre@MaloneyProperties.com, and the phone number is (617) 639-3064, extension 738.
Do Not Give Up Your Current Apartment Just Because You Are Contacted
Being contacted from the waitlist is not the same as having a completed lease. Boston Metrolist says selected applicants may first be invited to view an available apartment, followed by complete financial certification.
Keep your existing housing in place until the new rental has actually been finalized. A household can still fail final certification if updated income, household composition or other required information does not meet the property's rules.
The Affordable Units Are Inside the Historic Anglim Building
93 Centre Street is also known as The Anglim, an eight-story historic building in downtown Brockton. The property contains 55 apartments overall, with 11 income-restricted apartments reserved for households at or below 80% AMI.
The affordable inventory includes studios, one-bedroom and two-bedroom apartments. Maloney identifies one income-restricted apartment as built out for a household with mobility impairments, while the building itself is listed as wheelchair accessible.
The building was originally constructed in 1906 and renovated in 2023. Apartments include in-unit laundry, stainless-steel appliances, air conditioning and elevator access.
Heat, Hot Water and Gas Are Included
For the affordable apartments, Boston Metrolist currently lists gas, heat and hot water as included utilities. Tenants are responsible for water, electricity and cable or internet service according to Maloney's current property information.
First month's rent and a security deposit are due at signing. Maloney currently lists parking at an additional $75 per month and optional tenant storage at $40 per month.
Those charges should be confirmed again if you eventually receive an apartment offer because waitlist applicants may not reach the leasing stage until later.
August 27 Is the Date That Matters Now
Boston Metrolist currently gives August 27, 2026 as the deadline to enter this open waitlist. Since applications are handled first come, first served, waiting until the deadline offers no obvious advantage.
Applicants who want additional active options can compare the The Basin waitlist in Wakefield, which also covers studios, one-bedroom and two-bedroom apartments, or the Dedham Washington Street waitlist for a one-bedroom option.
For 93 Centre Street, the immediate task is simple: check the Brockton-specific 80% AMI limits, request the current application and submit it before August 27 if the property fits your household.
